Slow Life Begins At The Table

The first time I went to Europe I noticed simple tables in back alleys or on sidewalks, in front of apartments or tucked in villages. They were works of art. Effortless, egalitarian and completely charming. The most memorable and important lesson I learned was the simple art of the table. I was so taken with rustic villages or mysterious alleys in Paris or Rome where a simple table with a few flowers, cloth napkins and a wine glass or two could transform any life from ordinary to grand. It stuck with me and it's all about the table linen and the flowers, the spirit and the fresh food.
Lend Me Your Table
A worn out messed up table or a little find from a garage sale can be magical with a little help from rustic roots you will find in villages all over the world. Show me your inspired table. Once you sit down the fresh food and the company take it from there.
Post your little corner of paradise & show
your table tales
On Slow Life is about the little things that make life more pleasurable.Old worn out tables or inexpensive finds with a little tending can be beautiful. When I went to France from Nice to St. Remy or anywhere in Italy it wasn't the predictable hotels that moved me, it was the little balcony or the sidewalk table. Walking by a front courtyard on the outskirts of Florence or seeing a table with a potted flower on a city balcony just looks special. I would love to see your tables set for living so you can continue to inspire me and those who visit this blog. Little vignettes that show how ordinary lives well lived are made to last.
