There is an angel at my table. I have the honor of doing what I love for work, and an appreciative eye for simple pleasures and local gems. Earlier today, the clouds had Los Angeles locked into a cool, tropical yet comfortable womb. The gardeners were out in droves, blowing driveways, mowing lawns. Dogs were being walked, houses sold. Life is humming along here on an uptick. People are nice, especially when you smile at them. Simple things coupled with unexpected surprises don't go unnoticed by me and sometimes I get the most amazing rewards. The other night there was a super moon which was spectacular enough to light up the night for the whole world. But on top of that, I got a semi private display of excitement.
That day on the street crazy gorgeous
Supermoon that night in the sky and then...
After I said good night to my dinner guest as if the glowing moon wasn't enough, suddenly the sky exploded with a fireworks display beyond Disneyland, beyond anything I had seen in an LA sky. All I had to do was stand in my courtyard and look up. It was an unexpected fireworks display at a local club celebrating a wedding? A graduation.? A movie? Some people got freaked out thinking it was too loud, too long and too random.
I thought it was magical.
Then I hit the streets in my city the next day and saw a little of this and that. Shops, streets, amazing buildings, flowers, great choreography that makes up a day, a city, a neighborhood an appreciation for the slow life.
An architectual oaisis surprised me while I was on my bike @ ciclaviaI came across the clubby &beautiful Carondelet Club which remined me of the French Quarter in New Orleans just off of iconic Wilshire Blvd near Downtown LA on my way to an artist's studio
